Our Favorite New York City HotSpots For Dinner
Now that Winter is coming to an end, and Spring has arrived, its time to shed our winter coats, come out of hibernation, and hit the town. Yes Ladies and Gentleman, you heard me correctly. Gentlemen, ditch the socks, find your boat shoes, roll those sleeves up, and rock a nice paisley tie. Ladies, its time to wear that little black dress and pumps with no tights, and not worry about the hassle of coat check. This was a winter full of snow, ice, sleet, and even hail, but luckily we are nearing the end. Its time to enjoy a little sun at Central Park, have a cocktail or two at the outdoor patio of your favorite lunch spot, and then get ready to hit the cool Spring evening in style.
Throughout the year, you can find Choice Productions event staff working at multiple hotspots throughout New York City. Here at Choice, we love great food, interesting drinks, and NYC Hospitality. That is why we like to make sure that we stay involved in what is new, hip, and relevant. For this reason, we would like to tell you about some of our favorite New York hotspots places that you have to check out this Spring.
To enjoy our first location, you must travel to the heart of the Meatpacking district. At 409 West 14th street, you can find the Mexican styled La Cenita. With an updated take on the Mexican aesthetic, La Cenita offers numerous small plates that satisfy your palate, and a large assortment of unique tequila cocktails that quench your thirst. My favorite plates include the Crispy Rock Shrimp Taco, The Charred Octopus, and the Crab Queso. Then, I like to wash that all down with a shot or Herradura Reposado, and a sip of a Sirenita, one of their specialty cocktails.
For our next hotspot, you wont have to travel far. At 21 9th Ave, you can find the stylistic, sexy, and sophisticated Catch. This American style seafood restaurant became a Meatpacking staple as soon as it opened its doors, and continues to thrive and please. If you like oysters and clams, this is the perfect place to indulge, and a fun atmosphere to relax with a glass or two of Cuvee. And if you like sushi, this is a great venue to try something new. With interesting ingredients found through out their rolls, such as ponzo butter, kiwi, pickled jalapenos, and miso honey, this isn’t your typical sushi spot. And with one sip of your Zeus, that has absolut tune vodka, peppercorn syrup, lime and cucumber, you know that you just got the night started off right.
To get to our next location, you will have to travel cross-town to 199 Bowery. Here you will find the underground, intimate, and sultry Jazz Room. Sharing a menu with the General, which is directly upstairs, you can enjoy the contemporary Asian cuisine of executive chef Hung Huynh, while listening to live jazz. With light bites like the salmon belly carpaccio, seared toro, and robata style swordfish and shrimp, you won’t be to full to enjoy a little light dancing. And don’t forget to indulge in a couple of their interesting and distinctive sake offerings.
Overall, it is easy to have fun in NYC, no matter where you are. As long as you are surrounding by good food, drinks, interesting people, and fun music, the night is yours to enjoy. But, you are more than welcome to take my word for it, say hi to some of our well-trained and hospitable staff, and check out any of these great EMM/Group locations. Enjoy the warmer weather, hopefully I’ll see you out on the town.
